Day Long Adult Beginners Workshop at the Flavel, Dartmouth
Saturday 18th March, 10am – 4pm

This day long workshop for adult beginners covers the background and history of taiko drumming, a chance to get to grips with the basics & fundamentals, some fun drills and then the day culminates in participants learning a simple taiko piece to play altogether. Taiko drumming is a fabulous activity and accessible to all, no previous experience needed.

Whilst not marketed as therapeutic there are many benefits to taiko. Due to its physicality it’s great to get the body moving but it’s also good ‘brain gym’. The combination of it being a physical & mental activity means there’s no room for anything else so whatever people may be going through it provides a good escape. What’s more it’s very rare for people to have played taiko before so there’s a great sense of achievement to try something new and be able to play something altogether.

Taiko South West are excited to be offering a day long taiko drumming workshop at The Flavel in Dartmouth. All equipment will be provided so all you have to do is (book a place!) and  turn up on the day ready to have a great time! Places are £65.00 per person and must be booked in advance directly through The Flavel here. Lunch is not provided.
